Rideau Lakes resident Pat Phillips was presented with the 2026 Ontario Senior of the Year Award, a program that gives each municipality in Ontario the opportunity to recognize an outstanding senior who, after age 65, enriches the social, cultural or civic life of the community.

This provincial award, overseen by the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism was awarded to a well-known local and long-time resident, Pat Phillips for her incredible volunteerism.

June is recognized as ‘Seniors Month’ in Ontario, and many seniors generously contribute their knowledge, care, and time to build their communities. This year, through a nomination made by Rideau Lakes Council, Pat Phillips is the well-deserved recipient of this prestigious award.

During the presentation, Mayor Hoogenboom thanked Ms. Phillips for her years of volunteer efforts in the community.

Mayor Hoogenboom proudly presented Ms. Phillips with a certificate at the Delta Coffee Drop-in on Monday, July 27, 2026, to acknowledge the important contribution made to the local community.
