Council Commitment to Accessibility Planning
The Council of The Corporation of the Township of Rideau Lakes is committed to:
- The continual improvement of access to all municipally owned facilities, premises and services for all those with disabilities
- The provision of quality services to all members of the community with disabilities
Accessibility Advisory Committee
Section 29 of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2005, S.O. 2005, c.11 states that the council of every municipality having a population of not less than 10,000 shall establish an Accessibility Advisory Committee or continue any such committee that was established before the day this section comes into force
The Municipality has an established Accessibility Advisory Committee under By-Law 2019-14 which also adopted the Terms of Reference for the Committee.
