  • Heritage Plaque: The original St. Edwards, site of the area’s first Catholic Church -  A memorial plaque is located at 364 Parish Road, north of Westport which commemorates the original Catholic Parish, its place of worship and its parish school for northern Leeds in 1840.

Did you Know?

In 1910, this area had forty-two cheese factories. They were supplied milk by 1,042 local dairy farms and produced over four million pounds of cheddar. The cheese was initially shipped out by canal boat, cooled by ice cut from local lakes, and later by rail.
