CORRESPONDENCE:
Any communication received by the Township through the Clerk’s office or the information email account and directed to Council, will be forwarded to all members of Council, and appropriate staff, at the same time. If received via email, a reply email will be provided stating that the email was forwarded on for Council’s information and filed accordingly. Current or past communication items may be pulled from the files and placed on an upcoming agenda either through the consent agenda or as an attachment to a staff report as required.
General correspondence from the public shall not be included on the Council agenda; unless:
1. specifically requested by a member of Council; or
2. used as supporting information to a staff report; or
3. it is the topic for a scheduled delegation as per the procedural by-law; or
4. included as supporting information to a Notice of Motion by Council
Any communication that contains defamatory statements, allegations, inferences, disrespectful or improper matters shall not be forwarded to Council or staff and shall be handed over to the CAO for review and returned to the sender.

DELEGATION REQUESTS:
Anyone wishing to address Council as a Delegation must contact the Clerk Ext 293 to be added to an Agenda as space permits.
All delegations are required to submit a written statement and presentation material (if applicable), which will be included in the agenda package, no later than 4:00 p.m. on the Wednesday immediately preceding regular meetings in order to be accepted on the Agenda.
Delegations have a total of 10 minutes to address Council. Council members will then have an opportunity to ask questions to the delegation.

The Township has adopted the Rideau Lakes Affordable Housing Strategy with 21 Recommendations and 6 Action items to promote the creation of affordable housing in Rideau Lakes.

The Township has completed a Cultural Heritage Strategic Plan which catalogs our vast wealth of cultural heritage and built heritage. The Township has completed an Economic Development Action Plan 2023-2026 to foster an economic landscape that supports living and working in Rideau Lakes.

The Parks and Recreation Master Plan is designed as a planning tool for all areas of recreation in the Township of Rideau Lakes to provide an assessment of the current state of recreational service provision, and to make recommendations for future development of Parks, Facilities and Programs. It also takes into account programs and facilities in neighbouring municipalities that may have some sort of impact on recreation in the Township of Rideau Lakes.
