The Rideau Lakes ALTO Working Group is hosting a “Pinning Party” on April 21, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Elgin Community Hall, 47 Main Street in Elgin, Ontario.
The focus of the event is to assist Rideau Lakes residents, particularly seniors, who would like to participate in the Community Consultation Process by adding important locations to be considered along the proposed high speed rail route. This may include agricultural lands, heritage attributes, wildlife crossings, wetland areas, recreational trails and other points of interest.
Entitled “Shaping the Canada of tomorrow with high-speed rail” ALTO has published the interactive map at the following link: https://en.consultation.altotrain.ca/shaping-the-canada-of-tomorrow-with-high-speed-rail/places/interact-map
The interactive map illustrates the boundaries of the corridor under study for the high‑speed rail network, as well as the areas being considered for station locations, represented as circles. This tool allows you to geographically indicate the opportunities and considerations you wish to bring to our attention within the study area.
At the event there will be information, a question-and-answer table, pinning tables as well as a petitions & letter-writing table, hosted by the Rideau Lakes ALTO Working Group, a Committee of Council. To learn more visit https://www.rideaulakes.ca/alto
