Experience Rideau Lakes Campaign Reaches over 700,000 people

Published: Friday, 26 January 2024

Rideau Lakes Economic Development Committee is pleased to share that over 700,000 people have been reached through the Experience Rideau Lakes campaign, to inspire people to visit the villages, hamlets and special places in the Township, and lead people to discover businesses along the way.

As an initiative of the Economic Development Committee, the ultimate goal is to stimulate activities that support employers and locally owned businesses, in order to maintain jobs and services for the people of Rideau Lakes.

Rideau Lakes embarked on a plan to improve online communication and implemented the Digital Content Strategy in 2022. Subsequently, the multi-faceted Experience Rideau Lakes campaign was launched and successfully reached over 715,696 people in its first two years.

Published on the Township website and shared on the Experience Rideau Lakes Facebook and Instagram Pages, the blog articles remain accessible year-round and have added a robust selection of trip ideas that will appeal to an audience that are likely to support local business.

“The campaign results are phenomenal,” expressed Mayor Arie Hoogenboom, “there are over 400 businesses operating in Rideau Lakes, and the Township is actively working to help support and retain these businesses for the benefit of our residents.”

Reasons for the success of the campaign are attributed to the engagement of the Facebook Community, Instagram followers and the direct support of collaborators including the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville as Economic Development partners and RTO9 Southeastern Ontario for promoting Rideau Lakes to their audience.
