Description

On December 21, 2021, the Township of Rideau Lakes Fire Station #2 located in the Village of Portland was destroyed by fire. The station apparatus and equipment were also lost.

The first step to proceed with rebuilding the station is to determine the appropriate location for the new station.

To facilitate this decision, a consultant has been engaged to identify options and provide an evidence-based recommendation regarding the future location of the future station.

Community input is a key part of this study. Two virtual “Town Hall” meetings have been scheduled to provide Rideau Lakes residents with an opportunity to review relevant documents, discuss the potential options, selection criteria and voice any concerns or suggestions.
