An Evening With Kichi Sibi Trails - Online
Great Blue Heron.jpg

On September 25th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Rideau Waterway Land Trust is delighted to host special guests Wendy-Anne Jocko (a former Chief of the Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn) and Jim Stone (a historian), President and Vice President, respectively, of Kichi Sibi Trails – for a free webinar. Their organization’s mission is to revitalize Indigenous Trails around the Ottawa River (Kichi Zībī). The Rideau River (Pasapkedjinawong), as a tributary, is one such trail. We will also hear from Kim Lulashnyk and Ted Stewart, Chair and Co-Chair of the Newboro & Area Heritage Society, who recently hosted an exhibit on the History of Indigenous Peoples in the Rideau Lakes area specifically.
