A group of dedicated quilters known as the Rideau Sewers meet at 9 a.m. on the second Wednesday of the month at Portland United Church to cut and sew lap sized quilts,  exchange sewing techniques and to enjoy learning and creating together.

The quilts are given to palliative care and cancer patients and to those on dialysis at the Smiths Falls and Perth Hospital Campus and, depending on circumstances, to those in need in our local communities.

These quilts, made with love, provide warmth and comfort during stressful times for recipients and their families.

New Sewers are most welcome!  Kits are available for sewing or choose to create your own from numerous patterns
