The first burial at this cemetery, as indicated by the head stone, was Frank Jackson in 1865. However, Orin or Lucy Lillie could be earlier but the dates on their stones are unreadable. The cemetery is located adjacent to County Rd 5, on Lot 6 in the 7th Concession of Bastard.  In 1949, Joseph O’Grady sold the cemetery to the Trustees of the Orren Lillie Cemetery for $1. Over time the cemetery had been called the Chick or the Carls Cemetery. The Cemetery is presently owned and maintained by the Township of Rideau Lakes.
