Fire Season is April 1 to October 31

Open Air Burning with a valid permit is permitted only between 6pm and 8am. 
Campfires no bigger than 3ft X 3ft X 3ft (1m X 1m X 1m) do not require a permit and are not subject to Fire Season time restrictions.

The Ontario Fire Code prohibits open burning unless approved by the Chief Fire Official. Township By-Law 2019-16 – Open-Air Burning allows for such approved open-air burning through a permit process. Any unauthorized burning may result in a fine pursuant to the Ontario Fire Code, and the Provincial Offences Act.

Effective March 17, 2020, the Municipal Office is closed to the Public.  You may call 1-800-928-2250 Ext 223 for help with your online permit.  If you are unable to pay online with PayPal or a credit card, you may mail a cheque.

2020 Burn Permits cost $10 for the year and are available ONLINE at .

Pay online with a Credit Card or PayPal.  To pay with Debit or Cash, choose the Pay Later option and visit the Township of Rideau Lakes Municipal Office at 1439 County Road 8, Delta (in Chantry).
